William Garden was a Naval Architect and prolific yacht designer based in British Columbia. This double ended Bermudan sloop was built in Sydney, Australia during 1967/68 and was sailed to the UK via the Pacific and Panama, ending her journey on the west coast of Scotland. She has then passed between two owners including the current. She has gone on to sail to the Mediterranean where she has spent a number of years being sailed leisurely before returning to the UK late last year. During the journey the gear box gave out which has been replaced with new along with new water pump. She has also undergone a full mechanical service in December 2021. Hull Carvel Oregon Pine planking on spotted gum frames, copper fastened. Iron keel, stainless steel keel bolts. Decks and cockpit Flush deck of Brunzeel marine plywood sheathed with West Epoxy and finished with Treadmaster panels. Wheel steering. Superstructure A doghouse shelters the forward end of the cockpit and at the aft end there is a companionway to the aft cabin. Rig Bermudan Sloop Alloy deck-stepped mast and spars, stainless steel standing rigging, replaced 2001. Profurl roller reefing on the genoa. Lazyjacks. Sails: Battened mainsail, Dolphin Sails. Furling genoa, Owen Sails (2001) Machinery Engine Perkins Prima M50 50hp, 1988. 800 hours (approx). Shaft drive to 3 blade propeller. Tank Fuel: 30 gals in 2 stainless steel tanks. Water: 40 gals Batteries 12v electrics. Acommodation Berths – 6 All joinery in cedar, teak and mahogany. All upholstery was replaced in 2012. Forecabin: 2 single V berths with infill to make a good sized double. Saloon: 2 settee berths. Table and L-shaped settee to port, settee to stbd. Table extends for dining. Small navigation desk at the forward end of the stbd berth. Heads compartment starboard aft, Par Brydon marine toilet. Galley to port aft in a U-shape. Taylor’s 2 burner, cooker & oven. SS sink, coolbox. Fresh water and salt water, manually pumped. Small Aft cabin with 2 single V berths. Equipment Navigation NASA Clipper Depth sounder, Log/Speed, Wind Speed Direction. All 2010.
