All Wood Electric Driven Day Cruiser
A 5.8 x1.2 meter electric driven hand built wooden 6 person day cruiser ideal for quiet trips on the canals, rivers and navigable waterways.
A canoe-shaped pleasure boat built in 1998 by an artisan boat builder, Windy Ridge Canoe, in Haliburton, Ontario, Canada; one of three; all wood construction; hull of British Columbia cedar; exterior clear fiberglass sealed.
Having had a hand in it’s design and construction, I know the attention to detail and quality of the materials that was involved. Consequently, the Whisper was been lovingly cared for resulting in it’s excellent condition.
I have had many hours of pleasure from the boat. Since moving to Suffolk, we don’t have the same opportunity to use it, thus the reason for looking for a new owner.
Driven by a new 55 lb thrust Minn Kota outboard motor from 2 new 12 volt marine batteries. Includes an “Overall Cover with support hoop” made in 2013 by Sparks Marine Trimmers, Aylesbury, Bucks that keeps the boat bone dry in heavy and persistent rain.

Battery charger and extension cord with marina power source adapter

Plastic and woven bumpers, including a nose protector
Manual canal lock opening tool

The boat is docked at a marina on the Cam River, near Cambridge.
The design is a near replica of a popular early 20th century boat called a “Dispro”, a common sight on Southern Ontario lakes up to the 1950’s. The history of the Dispro is featured in “The Greatest Little Motor Boat Afloat”, which comes with the boat, along with photos recording the boat’s construction.
