Details as supplied by our client :- Rose Marion is a Watson class RNLI Lifeboat. Built on the Clyde in 1938, it was originally called the Sir Arthur Rose and has extensive history which can be found on Pathe news and also searched on the internet when it was originally launched after the Empire exhibition. It then served at Tobermory as their first lifeboat she later went on to Southern Ireland and saved even more lives there. It is recorded as saving 95 lives. It was an RNLI lifeboat until 1973 and then in the late 90’s converted into a motor yacht, cruising all around the British Isles The owners who had it then, spent a vast amount of money putting new top sides on and fitted it with two sabre diesel engines which have had little use and are still like new. Specifications Rose Marion is constructed of double diagonal mahogany on oak. The length is 46 feet the beam is approximately 13 feet and has an approximate draught of 5 feet. She is equipped with two fuel tanks, two large water tanks, a calorifier , has hot and cold running water in a shower room and hand basin and also hot and cold running water to the galley sink. Two separate whale fresh water pumps, and 3 bilge pumps. It has two rear berths in Saloon, a starboard side single berth and a large double berth to the bow. It is equipped with one Smart TV, a log burning stove, a convector heater also has various AC double sockets, new 12 volt DC, electrics complete with new batteries. It has a nice sized table and bench in the main Saloon and it also has the original helm and ships binnacle and all the necessary electrical sea going equipment, ie VHF Ship to shore, plot finder, etc etc Newly fitted carpet to Saloon, new blinds and additional lighting. Extensive repainting was carried out in July 2018, also bronze and copper fittings sandblasted to original, new anti-fouling carried out. Now this craft was surveyed 2 ½ years ago and whilst out of the water in 2018 the original surveyor was contacted and we were advised that is does not require another survey for another 2 ½ years. The boat is insured with a specialist classic wooden insurance broker, details can be supplied on request. Rose Marion is moored in the Tide Mill Yacht harbour at Woodbridge and this would make a perfect live aboard subject to permission being granted.
