Details as supplied by our client.
There is much information online about these boats.A Google search will reveal plenty of detail about performance, practicality, experience of ownership etc. A fair summary would suggest that this is a very satisfying boat to own in
terms of versatility, performance, comfort and safety....
’Tarragon’ condition: summary-
Prior to my acquisition of the boat some five years ago the previous owner had lavished time and money in maintaining her to a very high standard. I have had two years use, mostly sailing in local waters and found her a delight to use in all ways.
Hull ,standing rigging ,sails etc are in good condition, as an inspection will confirm.
Notes on Volvo engine:-
Before she was lifted out the engine was beginning to run erratically.Once ashore it was decided to
conduct a top-end strip down, which revealed the following:-
The exhaust was corroded away to a great extent, leaking ,and clearly
not able to function properly.
The cylinder head was removed for inspection, revealing excessive
pitting to the exhaust valve seating.
A rebuild would involve attending to the valve seating, the replacement of
gaskets etc A replacement exhaust in stainless steel(advisable) is available at a cost of £180.
"Tarragon" represents very good value at LESS than
£3000 INC
